C.A.R.E…beyond the cookie! Welcome

Welcome! If we haven’t met, I’m Carrie and I am glad you are here.

It may seem odd to have a blog on a cookie site, but bear with me. Some things to know about me: I love people, I love words, and encourage people with words. It fills up my heart to have a space to plunk out some words for whoever wants to take a pause in their day and read. Plus, having this little blog will give my very patient hubby a break from having to hear all of my words all of the time.

Plus you may be surprised along the way to learn how cookies have helped me surface some creative joy in my life that had gotten buried under an avalanche of life experiences that swiped my feet right out from underneath me. More on that in future blog posts.

Here are 4 things you will find in this Blog:

1 —

Connection

As humans, we are designed for connection. This will be a weekly place for us to connect as I share my cycle of why I tend to isolate when things in life get tricky instead of leaning into connection with others and fun activities. (like making/decorating cookies)

The First week of each month, I’ll chat about the “C” in C.A.R.E. Connection

2 —

Awareness

It was years ago, in some very hard seasons of life, that I started to realize that I was kneely aware of the needs of others around me but struggled to be aware of my own needs. The second week of each month I will be jotting down some topical thoughts around the importance of growing the “Awareness” of personal needs and why it is important so that we can keep caring for the people we love.

3 —

Resilience

Honestly, resilience became a bit of a bad word in my life. Why? I got weary of hearing others tell me how resilient I was year after year. Im still reshaping the definition of resilience in my life and giving myself more and more permission to be okay if I don't bounce right back from hard situations or bounce back in different ways than the supposed cultural norms. You will find me here on the third week of each month, brushing up against the new spaces of “Resilience” and creative possibilities of what it can uniquely look like in each of our lives.

4 —

Empowerment

Some of you may be more efficient and effective at celebrating yourselves than I am or have been able to. I do not know about you, but, feeling empowered is one of the first things that leaves my self-care arsenal when life gets messy. You will find me here on the 4th week of each month stepping into the very needed space of learning to be okay with caring for our selves through “Empowerment.”

With Wholehearted thanks,

Take C.A.R.E,

Carrie
